Installing a ceiling fan in the bathroom is an easy way to improve the ventilation in the room. These fans feature angled blades that pull air out of the room, which is often moist. Once the fan has been installed, you should follow the installation instructions carefully. The vent should be placed between two joists near the reference hole. Measure the distance to the reference hole and mark the location of the fan. Use the measurement from the attic to determine the size of the hole in the ceiling. Next, use a layout square to draw a rectangle outline of the intake port. Once you have located the exact position of the fan, you can move on to the next step.
Once the reference hole has been drilled, you can begin the actual installation process. You can then cut the hole in the ceiling, depending on the size of the ventilation port. The reference hole should be larger than the vent port. Once the hole is drilled, use a layout square to draw a rectangle on the ceiling. Once you have the rough outline of the intake port, you can move on to the next step of the installation.
