Ceiling Fan Quit Working? Tips to Find Out Why
There are many reasons that a ceiling fan may stop working but the most common is actually the wire going into it. When you first notice that your ceiling fan does not work, it is usually because one of the three wires is not connected to anything. The easiest way to do this is to look under the fan and see if the wires are in the bottom or on the sides. If they are, just pull these wires off and you will see two or three wires that need to be attached to something. These are usually the red and white wires that go to the fan itself.
Now that you know where the wires are and what they are supposed to do, you can move on to the problem. Sometimes you can get new wires or you can have the wires reversed. This is one of the easiest things that anyone can do with their ceiling fans and it is something that you can keep doing until the problem is fixed. If you are someone who likes to keep things simple, then you can just take off the old wires. If you are more interested in keeping your fan but you are not sure how to fix it, then you should probably call a professional about it. The cost might be a bit higher, but it is worth it to have everything in order so you can enjoy the cooling benefits of your ceiling fans.
